I've always been into T-Shirts…just ask my wife and the first thing she'll tell you is that man has way too many T-shirts. Growing up skate culture and punk rock captured my imagination with killer designs from Powell Perelta (Bones Brigade, Tony Hawk) Santa Cruz's Screaming Hand wheel by Jim Phillips. Misfits, Ramones and Black Flag were all bands that conveyed their power sonically as well graphically through albums covers, posters and T-shirts. I spent a good chunk of my youth making my own designs and handprinting my own limited run T-shirts.
After moving to Vermont I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to design and illustrate many T-Shirts for Phish – I was always inspired to run into the random dude on the street wearing one of my designs.
Being that i've finally had to purge all my moth eaten punk and skate shirts from my youth it seemed like the perfect time to launch my own T-shirt brand.
So what is Munchi? Munchi Brand is an ode to the Green Mountain State and all the things to love about living here. Vermont is an amazing place that has vibrant small town communities, beautiful intimate outdoor places and activities, it inspires creativity and is full of fun-loving, open minded, passionate people. On a personal level, Vermont is my home and where i've become a husband and father to 2 beautiful children, it's a place that has taught me the importance of local food, sustainablity and community and it's a place that inspires me on daily basis.
I envision Munchi to be a T-shirt brand for anyone whose heart calls this great state home (or just loves awesome T-Shirts)...Vermont is Munchi's muse and the jumping off point for making awesome T-shirts that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
